SLOW DANCE,
80 ft
Ketch, Brooks Motor Sailer
The Slow Dance is reminiscent of times gone by with her elegant lines and
warm atmosphere. This beautiful sailboat offers lots of space and luxury for
those wanting to enjoy a different kind of adventure other than regular motor
yachts. If absolute peace is what you need this is the vessel for you to
unwind, relax and reconnect with yourself and those you care about. Slow
Dance has a large cockpit with ample seating – dinner can be served here or
it is a great area to hang out during sunset cruises or a day snorkeling. The
extra wide deck allows guests to walk around to the bow, without hindrance,
where they will find comfy sun loungers. Once inside Slow Dance the first
thing you notice is her beautiful teak paneling, hand crafted by skilled
carpenters in New Zealand, where she was built. The wheelhouse offers seating
for ten and is great area to set up a buffet. A couple of steps down is the
salon, which has an elegant dining area and comfy couches. The galley is
fully functional with Viking stove, dishwasher, granite countertops and lead
paneled windows opening to the dining area. The guest quarters consist of
three staterooms all with “en suite” bathrooms. The master stateroom has a
queen size bed, T.V, DVD, vanity, bathtub and shower. The VIP state room has
a double bed and the guest stateroom has one double and one single. The décor
and feeling is that of a quaint cottage, but at sea. Crew’s quarters consist
of two forward cabins with own bathroom. Slow Dance is extremely stable,
weighing 80 tons and has a range of 4000 miles. She is a fully rigged sailing
vessel with auxiliary power provided by a 671 Detroit engine. She has three
generators a water maker, icemaker, washer/dryer and is fully
air-conditioned. A full range of electronics is on board, such as GPS,
Autopilot, Radar, Hi Seas radio and depth sounder. There is a T.V and DVD in
the salon as well as in the master stateroom. A full selection of music is
available on board, or bring your own IPOD to plug in. An extensive reading
library is aboard, with plenty of information about the local waters. Slow
Dance has kayaks, snorkeling equipment, water skis and wake board as well as
fishing equipment. Guests use the dinghy to water ski from or to go back and
forth to the beach. Captain Patrick Van der Zijden is from Holland and speaks
several languages. He is in his thirties, very pleasant and easygoing. He is
certified by the Royal Yacht Association with many years experience in the
Mediterranean, as well as being a Trans Atlantic veteran. Patrick is now
enjoying the beautiful waters of Baja. Slow Dance is a classic beauty not to
be missed.
