Fishing Reports

Pisces Fish Report—July 8th to July 14th, 2017

Date: 7/16/2017

Fishing in Cabo has been mostly good this week, although there was a slow down with about half of boats skunked on a few days mid-week. However, when it has been good throughout the rest of the week, we’ve seen boats land a varied array of summer species. We saw another rare Pacific shortbill spearfish this week, so we doubt that anyone is going to continue to believe that they are that rare in our waters. However, we only usually see about 2-3 of these in a whole year usually. We saw quite a few sailfish this week as well, this generally signals that the summer water temperatures have arrived.

Date: 7/10/2017

July is off with a bang for Pisces Sportfishing, as the summer weather and warming seas have seen the fishing come alive with many species, with a few of them being rarely caught in Cabo. Fishing was in a few different locations this week, from the 95 Spot to San Jaime and the 180 Spot. While inshore fishing produced jack crevalle, roosterfish, white skipjack, ladyfish, triggerfish, sea bass, grouper, and a silky shark that was released.

Pisces Fish Report—June 24th to June 30th, 2017.

Date: 7/5/2017

Fishing this week saw some improvements in the overall numbers, with a majority of boats (69%) landing yellowfin tuna. Most of these fish were in the 10-20 pound range, however we did see the odd larger tuna on some boats. There were also good numbers of striped marlin seen, and fewer inshore fish species as boats focused offshore.

Fishing Reports

Pisces Fish Report—June 17th to June 23rd, 2017

Date: 6/24/2017

Our week started off with most boats catching fish, and then tapering off until with most boats skunked on the 23rd, unfortunately the same day as the start of the annual Stars and Striped charity tournament. Boats travelled high and low this week in search of fish, with a range of places being productive. We saw the most consistent inshore catches around el Tule on the Corridor, with some of the species seen being: roosterfish, triggerfish, jack crevalle, skipjack, yellowtail, amberjack, pompano, red snapper and green jacks. Offshore fishing was spread out from the Old Lighthouse all the way to Punta Gorda in San Jose and in some cases travelling many miles offshore.

Pisces Fish Report—June 10th to June 16th, 2017

Date: 6/19/2017

Very good fishing this week on all fronts, we saw most of the offshore bite at the 11:50 Spot at the beginning of the week to then spread out a bit. As far as inshore fishing goes, we’ve still been seeing the big rooster action. With the bite being excellent, up and down the coast from Cabo along the corridor, almost to San Jose.

Fishing Reports

Pisces Fish Report—June 3rd to June 9th, 2017

Date: 6/12/2017

This week it was mostly striped marlin that we saw aboard Pisces boats, with a very good catch success rate of 90% overall. It seems like the marlin bite continued most days out at the 11:50 Spot, with some of the boats landing multiple fish. In the same area were found the odd wahoo and even more rarely this week dorado.

Pisces Fish Report—May 20th to May 26th, 2017

Date: 5/29/2017

This week was the tale of two bites, the inshore roosterfish bite and the offshore yellowfin tuna bite. Pisces boats focused on the inshore roosters in the first half of the week, landing some very large specimens that were sure to give any angler a thrill as they reached anywhere from 45 up to 60lbs. While we saw the tuna bite get hotter in the second half of the week, with some boats landing fish from football size in large numbers up to a fish in the triple digits.

Fishing Reports

Pisces Fish Report—May 6th to May 12th, 2017

Date: 5/14/2017

This week we saw a fairly good catch success rate for the boats that went out, the week started with just two boats and then on the 7th and 8th we had a port closure due to strong wind conditions, which lead to rough seas. Striped marlin made up the bulk of the fish encountered by Pisces crews this week, with some inshore fish, such as: yellowtail, roosterfish, jack crevalle, grouper and red snapper, as well as the odd wahoo.
